The Teaching Tapestry TEFL

TEFL, Ideas, and Innovation in action

Hello and welcome!

I weave old and new patterns together to develop approaches, techniques, and insights for language education professionals.

I think languages have always been an intrinsic part of who I am and how I see myself. Part of my family spoke Spanish, and English was ever-present for me growing up in Italy. In uni, I studied Japanese, Chinese and a bit of French, as well as falling in love with linguistics for the first time. Teaching came later, almost by accident – as it is for many of us – but once it arrived, the magic and exciting dynamics of communicative language teaching, with its approaches and at times unconventional methodologies, was like playing with fireworks for the kid in me.

Ever since that fateful CELTA course, I’ve been diving head first in the world of language teaching in various settings and countries around the world. At the same time, my insatiable curiosity has been kept alive by study, dialogue, and research.

An ADHD diagnosis finally gave me the tools I needed to be an active member of the global and vibrant community of language educators, teachers, trainers and researchers.
